There are ways to install MySQL 5.5 which we will see in later articles. MySQL Community Server 5.5.In this article, we will go through one of the multiple ways to install MySQL 5.5 Server on CentOS 7 through YUM utility. * mysqlbinlog did not accept input on the standard input when the standard input was a pipe. * Adding a LIMIT clause to a query containing GROUP BY and ORDER BY could cause the optimizer to choose an incorrect index for processing the query, and return more rows than required. The resulting connection used SSL, but the key was not used. * The argument to the -ssl-key option was not verified to exist and be a valid key. * mysqlhotcopy failed for databases containing views. * A query for a FEDERATED table could return incorrect results when the underlying table had a compound index on two columns and the query included an AND condition on the columns. * CHECK TABLE and REPAIR TABLE could crash if a key definition differed in the. * The Thread Pool plugin did not respect the wait_timeout timeout for client sessions. * The argument for LIMIT must be an integer, but if the argument was given by a placeholder in a prepared statement, the server did not reject noninteger values such as '5'. If a program linked against that library and libcurl, it could crash with a segmentation fault. * The libmysqlclient_r client library exported symbols from yaSSL that conflict with OpenSSL. * The RPM spec file now also runs the test suite on the new binaries, before packaging them. * Replication: In master-master replication with -log-slave-updates enabled, setting a user variable and then performing inserts using this variable caused the Exec_master_log_position column in the output of SHOW SLAVE STATUS not to be updated. This caused LOAD DATA INFILE to fail when trying to load a file larger than 4G in size, even when max_binlog_cache_size was set to a value greater than this. * Replication: On 64-bit Windows platforms, values greater than 4G for the max_binlog_cache_size and max_binlog_stmt_cache_size system variables were truncated to 4G. As part of this fix, memory is now allocated for reading from rows only in partitions that have not been pruned. This issue has been addressed by allocating buffers for reads from partitioned tables only when they are needed and freeing them immediately once they are no longer needed. For SELECT statements on tables with many partitions and large rows, this could cause the server to use excessive amounts of memory. * Partitioning: The buffer for the row currently read from each partition used for sorted reads was allocated on open and freed only when the partitioning handler was closed or destroyed. This issue is resolved by ensuring that partition pruning skips any remaining partitioning key columns once a partition key column that cannot be used in pruning is encountered. ) PARTITION BY KEY() # Use primary key as partitioning key > The WHERE condition used with the last column of the partitioning key was satisfied only by a single value, while the condition testing some previous column from the partitioning key was satisfied by a range of values.Īn example of a statement creating a partitioned table and a query against this for which the issue described above occurred is shown here: FOR UPDATE, UPDATE, or other SQL statement scanned rows in an InnoDB table using a The columns making up the table's partitioning key were used in the same order as in the partitioning key definition by a SELECT statement's WHERE clause as in the column definitions * InnoDB: Certain information_schema tables originally introduced in MySQL 5.6 are now also available in MySQL 5.5 and MySQL 5.1: INNODB_BUFFER_PAGE, INNODB_BUFFER_PAGE_LRU, and INNODB_BUFFER_POOL_STATS. Old versions of the plugin will work with current versions of the server, but versions of the server older than 5.5.28 will not work with current versions of the plugin. * The internal interface of the Thread Pool plugin has changed.

9/27/2023 0 Comments Clock timerThe English word "clock" replaced the Old English word "daegmael" meaning "day measure." Furthermore the word "clock" comes from the French word "cloche" meaning "bell". Clocks are instruments that measure and show the time. Over time, more sophisticated clocks were developed. The earliest clocks were simple sundials, which used the position of the sun to indicate the time of day. Whether for tracking time when cooking and baking or preparing your work presentation, timers are essential to measure, improve effectiveness and boost productivity.A clock is a device that is used to measure and display the time. People can now set their timer for hours, minutes and seconds and choose between different alarm sounds to alert them when the countdown has finished. They are now available in watches, computers, and mobile phones, with new features that could not be found on the analog models. Analog timers tend to come in funny or unusual shapes to serve as part of the decoration too.Īs technology evolved, digital timers have also become widely used and spread. At a certain point, they even became a necessary kitchen utensil to help cooks know, for example, when it is time to remove a cake from the oven. About timersĪ timer is a clock set to countdown a specified time interval and to sound an alarm when the said interval is over.Īnalog timers have been popular for a long time in many activities since they do not require the users to know the exact hour at that moment. The size and colors of the widget are completely customizable so you can match it with the overall design of your website or make it more noticeable to your followers. Let your visitors know what is coming up on your website in the near future or use it to build up the excitement for an upcoming event or special day. My Alarm Clock also features a customizable Countdown Timer Widget that you can easily add to your webpage. Additionally, on the general settings of this page (on the top right corner) you can change the font and color of the numbers, select the option to use the 24h format, or choose to use this timer with dark mode. You can also set an alarm to let you know when the time is up and name your timer. Both options will open a pop-up window for you to confirm how many hours, minutes, and seconds you wish your countdown to last. To start using the online timer, click on edit or select one of the above shortcuts with a specific time already defined. This online timer might also help students and workers track down how much time remains until a specific deadline, a meeting, or even the time to leave work or school and finally head home. As you can see, this tool can be helpful in more than one way. Or you can use this online timer as a tool to track how long you have until it is time to take a cake out of the oven. With it, you can define a certain amount of time to perform a task and use this restricted period as motivation to be more productive and finish in time, for example. Online timer is a web tool aimed at helping users take control of their time and setting time goals for themselves. 9/27/2023 0 Comments Forgive us our trespasses moviePaul echoes the Lord’s words, “If your enemy is hungry, feed him if your enemy is thirsty, give him something to drink … ” (Rom 12:20). Did not Jesus say to us, “…love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” (Mt 5:44)? St. In making that request of Our Heavenly Father, we are on good ground. And more than that, we are asking for the grace to forgive those who have harmed us whether in public or in private, whether by malicious and false speech or by treachery and betrayal – or one of the other forms of inhumane behavior. What we are really asking is for the grace not to engage in it ourselves. Here we are not necessarily asking God to protect us from it. When we pray, “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us,” we are asking (among other things) to be delivered from this culture of comeuppance. Each of us is one tweet away from public denunciation and loss of reputation. Perhaps as never before people suffer from anxiety, loneliness and isolation. It also doesn’t take a scientific survey for us to see that today’s angry and unforgiving culture isn’t making people happy. What’s more, harsh attitudes and rhetoric are often not reserved only for public figures unforgiving attitudes and words can easily spill over into one’s personal and professional relationships. As the late Cardinal Francis George aptly observed, contemporary culture “permits everything and forgives nothing.” And it’s all too easy for us to be swept up into this culture of finger-pointing, defamation, calumny and retaliation. The cynicism and lack of compassion so characteristic of our times are painfully evident. We live in a culture that’s often angry and unforgiving. Take, for example, the words, “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” We may be eager to be forgiven but less eager to forgive others.Īnd that shouldn’t surprise us. Did you ever notice how quickly we sometimes pray the Our Father? So quickly, in fact, that we may even fail to consider what we’re asking of Our Heavenly Father. 9/27/2023 0 Comments Old dial padAnd even though we’ve seen that parametric keycap generator before, it is pretty cool to see it in action. While this was all for fun, there are a couple of cool tips here, like chucking a bit of printer filament in a Dremel tool to stir-weld parts together. We also like forcing the issue by replacing the entire row of number keys with a single massive prank key. A 3D printed enclosure allows the rotary dial to nestle into the place where the regular numpad would be, and it looks pretty good. There was also a little hackery needed to stuff a USB hub into the keyboard, as well as literal hacking of the keyboard’s PCB. It turns out that there’s a lot of contact bounce in those old dials, leading to some software hacks to keep the Arduino happy. Starting with an old telephone dial from what must be an exceptionally well-stocked parts bin, first worked out the electrical aspects of interfacing the dial with a cheapo mechanical keyboard. In fact, it’s actually an April Fool’s prank played on a retro-phone-obsessed coworker, and it worked out pretty well. What we are sure about, though, is that rapid numeric keying is not what this rotary dial numpad keyboard is all about. We’re not sure about the rest of you, but to us, a keyboard without a number pad all the way over to the right just seems kind of - naked? We might not be accountants, but there’s something comforting about having the keypad right there, ready for those few occasions when you need to enter numbers more rapidly than would be possible with the row of number keys along the top of the keyboard. 9/27/2023 0 Comments Transmission fluid flush near meAnd, next time, at 120,000 miles, find a shop that can do the powered flush for you. TOM: But if they say it looks fine, just normally dirty, then just keep driving. If they come away gagging and holding their shop rags to their noses, there may be something wrong. RAY: Now that you've done two flushes, my advice would be to drive it as is for a few weeks, and then take it back and ask them to take a look at your transmission fluid. TOM: Without seeing the state of your fluid right now, we can't tell you whether you just had a normal mixture of new and old fluid, or if the fluid is really dark brown, indicating that something is wrong with your transmission. We have a machine that taps into the transmission's own circulation system to force out every bit of the old fluid, including what's in the torque converter, and replaces it all with new stuff. RAY: We avoid that problem by using a system that changes 100 percent of the fluid under pressure. That's when your mechanic called you and asked you to authorize another fluid change. TOM: So when you run the engine again, the new fluid you just added will mix with the old fluid that was in the torque converter, and the mix will look dirty again. The other half of the fluid, which was unreachable in the torque converter, remains untouched. RAY: So if you drain only one of the reservoirs - which is all you can do when you open the drain plug or drop the pan from under the car - you end up changing only a little more than half of the fluid. But when the engine stops, some fluid comes to rest in each place. TOM: When the engine is running, the fluid from these reservoirs mixes together. RAY: Basically, transmissions have two separate reservoirs: One houses the torque converter, and the other houses the guts of the transmission - the valves, gears, clutches, etc. Search for a TAKE 5 NEAR YOU Engine Air Filter Cabin Air Filter Coolant Services Transmission Service Wiper Blades Seasonal Tire Change Over Power. It sounds like they did an old-fashioned "drain and refill," Rick. Does it seem reasonable that it would require this second flush? - Rick I have used this vehicle only as a commuter car, no off-roading. I said OK, as I hope to keep the vehicle for many more years. They called me later that day and stated that, although they had flushed it with 12 quarts of Toyota fluid, it was still coming out brown, and recommended flushing it with another 12 quarts at just over another $100. Toyota recommends that the transmission fluid be checked, but I told the independent shop that, since it had never been changed (I bought it with about 20,000 miles), they should go ahead and change it. 9/27/2023 0 Comments Humidity dome for seedlings diyIt can still feel like a hefty investment to get started. Finding and choosing a soil mix can be intimidating. It can have a learning curve in getting the proper moisture levels. You will need a fine soil medium which often requires extra sifting. If you have poor germination, you haven’t wasted much space under lights or on a heat mat.Ĭons/Potential Cons of Soil Blocking : It is more labor and time intensive to make the blocks than it is to fill plug trays with soil (with the exception of the swift blocker- linked under soil blockers that we want.). Depending on your watering setup and your environment, you can transplant the small blocks directly to your soil without having to up-plant them into a larger block or container. The seedlings are generally faster growing. This also makes them a great option for those plants that don’t like to be transplanted. Seedling ‘air prune’ instead of getting root-bound, allowing them to produce healthier roots. They maximize the number of seeds you can start in a small space (the main reason we use soil blocks.) The supplies are compact and easy to store when not in use. If you are unfamiliar with soil blocking and want to learn more, our two favorite content creators and educators on this subject are: Blossom and Branch Farm and The Gardener’s Workshop.īenefits of Soil Blocking: Soil blocks don’t require as much soil as traditional plug trays. You then sow your seeds into these small blocks and grow them on flat trays, carefully watering them so that you don’t dislodge the soil. Essentially you use a hand tool (soil blocker) and a wet soil mixture to mold groupings of blocks of soil that stand on their own. It has become more popular over the past few years here in the USA. You may or may not have heard of Soil Blocking. We will also briefly talk about soil mixtures as well because (honestly) there are so many options out there and it can feel overwhelming. We are going to highlight the two methods that we use for indoor seed starting: Soil Blocking and Growing in Plug Trays. There are countless methods and opinions on starting seeds indoors.
